UUJFIt is with great joy that we announce that Unitarian Universalist Justice Florida has received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS as a public charity. All contributions to UU Justice Florida are now tax deductible. See Our primary work is education on issues of the day and education on the methods of civic engagement.

Our sister organization, the UUJF Action Network, will apply for 501(c)(4) status to cover lobbying activities for specific legislation at the state and national level. We do not support candidates. Contributions to the Action Network are not tax-deductible. See the full article on page 3 of the August 2014 issue of the Northeast Cluster’s newsletter the Northeast Breeze.

Watch this 4 ½ minute video to understand the importance of our UU State Advocacy Networks nationwide.

As the video says, “Alone we can engage in important acts of charity. However, to change deeply rooted systems of injustice, we must build statewide networks, that can link local and national organizing, weaving together congregations, young leaders, interfaith and secular allies, and national UU partners…Together, as Unitarian Universalists, we are organizing for justice, we are standing on the side of love, we are making a real difference. And the best part is, we’re just getting started.”
